Do you want to know more about HVDC cable systems?

These systems are indeed key ingredients of the evolving grid. Huge amounts of electricity are transmitted over vast distances with comparibly low losses.

The commercial cable technology dates back to the 1950's, although the birth of the general HVDC technology dates back to the 19th century with the invention of the mercury lamp by Peter Cooper Hewitt.
